Information on the general framework of the position

AGROMAP is a regional company based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. It designs and implements sustainability projects through Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in Côte d'Ivoire, the Republic of Congo, Cameroon and Ghana. These projects have a positive socio-economic impact on small-scale producers and their communities, improving their resilience to the effects of climate change.

AGROMAP is strongly committed to the development of quality forest carbon credit projects. To ensure the operational implementation of projects in the field, four (04) strategic axes have been identified, namely (01) the NBS axis, (02) the Consulting axis, (03) the Renewable Energy axis and (04) the Technology axis. AGROMAP is recruiting two (02) Agroforestry Animators to strengthen its Congo Brazzaville office.

Job description

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Agroforestry Animators will :

• Mobilize people around the project, identify beneficiaries, participate in beneficiary selection, etc. ;
• Prepare and organize awareness-raising activities in the villages;
• Organize training sessions and build capacity in environmentally-friendly cultivation techniques;
• Prepare and monitor plantings.

Profile required

• Education: BAC + 3 in agronomy, rural development, forestry, or any other related field;
• At least 2 years' professional experience in a similar position;
• Experience in social animation would be an asset;
• A strong ability to work as part of a team;

Attitudes and behaviors

• A great ability to listen and adapt;
• Knowledge of the Bouenza department is a major asset;
• The ability to work under difficult conditions;
• Excellent motorcycle riding skills;
• Ability to work in a rural environment;
• As French is the working language, written and spoken proficiency is mandatory.
• Knowledge of local languages is an asset.
