AN RSPO TRAINING MANAGER

Information on the general framework of the position
AGROMAP(https://agro-map.com/en/) is a regional company based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. It designs and implements sustainability projects through Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in Côte d'Ivoire, Congo Brazzaville, Cameroon, Ghana and Guinea. These projects have a positive socio-economic impact on small-scale producers and their communities, improving their resilience to the effects of climate change. AGROMAP is strongly committed to the development of forest carbon credit projects. To ensure the operational implementation of projects in the field, four strategic axes have been identified: NBS, Consulting, Renewable Energy and Technology. As part of its policy of strategic development of these four areas, AGROMAP is recruiting a full-time RSPO Training Manager.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Strategic Advisor, the RSPO Training Manager will be responsible for :
Design and coordination of RSPO training programs
- Define the vision and strategy of the AGROMAP training center in line with management objectives;
- Design training programs and modules in line with RSPO procedures and requirements, and updated P&C and ISH standards.
- Design, develop and recommend new programs, projects and activities related to RSPO training, research and education for managers and students;
- Coordinate with the RSPO training center the planning and procedures for all requirements related to our certification and the training to be provided.
- Supervise day-to-day operations and coordinate training activities through assigned staff;
- Prepare and ensure the success of the RSPO Secretariat's monitoring and evaluation missions.
Representation and communication
- Represent AGROMAP during projects by reacting to and resolving emergency situations, and ensuring that all aspects of projects/events are implemented and controlled according to plans ;
- Represent AGROMAP in public relations/liaison on issues relating to the training center and AGROMAP projects;
- Act as key liaison with a wide range of external contacts, including companies and other organizations that will be sending staff on training courses and/or hosting students
- Develop communication and promotional materials for distribution, such as newsletters, advertisements, brochures or flyers, and coordinate their printing and distribution;
- Collaborate with companies, civil society and governments to organize professional projects to be carried out by AGROMAP ;
- Recruit participants and members to the center using the most appropriate promotional or marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures or presentations at meetings;
- To be a driving force in the search for new customers (individuals or companies) interested in training to RSPO standards.
Budget monitoring and financing
- Guarantee a high-quality service within budget and on time;
- Prepare and monitor budgets for training, research, professional projects and events;
- Prepare or assist in the preparation of funding proposals for new or ongoing training and other projects/programs related to the RSPO and beyond.
Monitoring, evaluation and reporting
- Prepare periodic reports, financial statements and records on projects, progress, status or other special company reports;
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training activities in order to develop improved methods;
- Design and implement an evaluation methodology;
- Analyze results and recommend and/or take appropriate action ;
- Reviews applications to determine acceptance;
- Book and plan facilities and services for center projects/events;
- Negotiate and prepare rental contracts, determining costs and contractual terms;
Profile required
- Education: 5 years' higher education in agronomy, sustainable development, project management or other relevant field;
- 5 to 7 years' successful experience in training, managing sustainable projects, interacting with private and public stakeholders, with significant experience in RSPO certification project management (P&C and/or ISH).
- Knowledge of the context and key players in the oil palm sector in West and Central Africa would be an asset.
- Be perfectly bilingual in English and French;
- Ability to meet deadlines, good writing skills, rigorous and precise;
- Be a force of conviction and make proposals;
- Good listening skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to anticipate, adaptability and responsiveness under pressure
