About AGROMAP

AGROMAP (https://agro-map.com/) is a regional company headquartered in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. It designs and implements sustainability projects through Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in Côte d'Ivoire, Congo Brazzaville, Cameroon, Ghana, and Guinea. These projects have a positive socio-economic impact on small producers and their communities as they improve their resilience to the effects of climate change. AGROMAP is strongly committed to the development of high-quality forest carbon credit projects. To ensure the operational implementation of projects in the field, four strategic areas have been identified, namely NBS, Consulting, Renewable Energy, and Technology. As part of the implementation of a major ecosystem restoration and biodiversity preservation project in Haut-Sassandra, AGROMAP is looking for a KARIDJA Project Manager in Côte d'Ivoire in the Haut-Sassandra region (Daloa).

Information on the general framework of the position

The overall objective of the "Project for the Rehabilitation of Degraded Areas and Biodiversity Conservation of 70,000 hectares of agroforestry in Haut-Sassandra," known as "KARIDJA," is to contribute to the restoration of forest cover in order to generate carbon credits. Indeed, the national forest cover of approximately 16 million hectares is estimated at 2.97 million hectares in 2021, or less than 10% of the total area, with only 13.3% in classified forests and 32.2% in protected areas. The financial structure of the Project was developed by aDryada (https://adryada.com/), with funding provided by national and international investors. AGROMAP is primarily responsible for implementing the Project, with support from the Ministry of Water and Forests and other relevant ministries of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire. The project was designed in response to the call from the Ivorian government, whose law on the new forestry policy, promulgated on July 23, 2019, specifies the involvement of the private sector in the management of classified forests through concessions. These concessions mainly concern the management of natural forests, the creation of industrial reforestation sites, the creation of agricultural plots associated with the forest (agroforestry), agro-sylvo-pastoral management, ecotourism development, and the creation of long-term carbon and biodiversity sinks. The Project entered its operational phase after the signing in November 2025 of the agreement between the State of Côte d'Ivoire and the consortium formed by AGROMAP and aDryada. The Project's implementation approach consists of establishing a common vision to ensure the involvement of all stakeholders.

AGROMAP is seeking a Project Manager who is an excellent leader in managing large infrastructure projects and has experience in management and personnel from different disciplines in order to produce results in a timely manner. The successful candidate will also be able to develop effective strategies and tactics in a collaborative environment with rural populations.
