Information on the general framework of the position

AGROMAP is a regional company headquartered in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. It designs and implements sustainability projects through Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in Côte d'Ivoire, Congo Brazzaville, Cameroon, Ghana, and Guinea. These projects have a positive socio-economic impact on small-scale producers and their communities by improving their resilience to the effects of climate change. AGROMAP is strongly committed to the development of forest carbon credit projects. To ensure the operational implementation of projects in the field, four strategic areas have been identified, namely NBS, Consulting, Renewable Energy, and Technologies. As part of its workforce expansion, AGROMAP NBS is recruiting a Project Manager internally.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the NBS Operations Director, the Project Manager's main responsibilities will be:

Project planning:

  • Develop implementation plans for each agroforestry and reforestation project, including objectives, methods, necessary resources, and intervention schedules;
  • Identify priority areas for planting in collaboration with project partners;
  • Coordinate planting and monitoring activities, ensuring alignment with internal sustainability and quality standards;

Field operations control:

  • Supervise and organize technical teams and service providers involved in planting and maintenance operations, ensuring that deadlines are met;
  • Oversee field operations, including resource management, site and plot maintenance;
  • Ensure the quality of the work carried out by conducting regular field audits to verify compliance with agroforestry and reforestation standards;

Project monitoring and evaluation:

  • Establish rigorous monitoring of performance indicators (plant survival, biodiversity, environmental impact) to assess the effectiveness of interventions;
  • Prepare technical and financial reports on project progress and ensure detailed documentation for each stage of implementation;
  • Analyze the results obtained and propose adjustments or improvements based on observations in the field;

Management of local resources and partnerships:

  • Optimize the use of human, material, and financial resources allocated to projects to ensure efficient implementation;
  • Collaborate with local communities and authorities to obtain the necessary support and ensure the successful integration of projects;
  • Train and raise awareness among field teams and local communities about sustainable practices and plantation maintenance;

Reports and communication:

  • Report regularly on the progress of projects to the Department Head and senior management;
  • Maintain transparent communication with all stakeholders and contribute to promoting the positive impacts of projects.

Profile required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in agriculture, forestry, environment, natural resource management, or any other related field;
  • Three years of experience in implementing agroforestry, reforestation, and afforestation projects;
  • Proficiency in planting techniques, tree maintenance, and agroforestry ecosystem management.
  • Strong project management skills (planning, budget management, monitoring, and evaluation);
  • Good knowledge of environmental standards and ecological restoration practices.
