
BACKGROUND
To support the government's efforts and provide a response to deforestation in Côte d'Ivoire, FUJI OIL, represented in Côte d'Ivoire by BLOMMER CHOCOLATE, is actively involved in restoring the country's forest cover. This involves the implementation of agroforestry systems and the creation of community reforestation plots within its cocoa supply zone.
The project is being implemented in Côte d'Ivoire by AGROMAP, a company specializing in agroforestry projects.
General objective:
The main aim of this project is to support the implementation of agroforestry and community restoration projects, for the benefit of cocoa producers in its supply chain.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- Raise awareness and train producers and communities on issues related to climate change and sustainable development;
- Produce and make available 372,400 forest and fruit seedlings to beneficiary communities;
- Ensure the creation and restoration of community forests in the project areas;
- Improve the livelihoods of producers and their communities in the face of climate change through income diversification (IGAs);
RESULTS
- Awareness-raising and training for producers and their communities on issues related to climate change and sustainable development are provided;
- More than 372,400 forest and fruit seedlings are produced and distributed to beneficiary communities;
- The creation and restoration of community forests in the project localities are ensured;
- Improving the livelihoods of producers and their communities in the face of climate change through income diversification (income-generating activities) is ensured;
